Christmas has always been an opportunity for application developers to hype their revenue by providing significant discounts on applications. Also due to the fact that many people buy iOS devices as a gift on the day of Christmas. And if tweets from all the over the world on Twitter are to be believed, iPad has already overblown the numbers compared to other tablets in the market. Of course, anyone who would buy an iPad, would also require surplus amount of applications to make their Christmas even better.
According to a recent report from Distimo AppIQ data, the revenue for application developers have seen an slight increase of 70% for iPhone and iPad apps and downloads by 87% compared to the average downloads in December 2012. However, if you look closely at the chart of iPad, you would realise that revenue for the iPad applications has seen tremendous growth of 83% where the application downloads has hiked by 140% respectively.
Every developer aim to bring their applications on the top 10 lists of iPhone or iPad applications and this year, apps from Google such as Youtube and Google Maps have remained on the top charts of App Store on the day of Christmas.
